What to Expect

Day 1 : Arrive in Mumbai
- Upon arrival at Mumbai, you will be met by our representative who will assist you with your transfer to the hotel.

Day 2 : Baroda to Ahmedabad and Onwards to Utellia
- After breakfast at the hotel, transfer to the airport for your flight to Baroda (Flight: 9W-349, 10:15 – 11:05 hrs).
- Upon arrival in Baroda, you will be transferred to your hotel.
- Later, take a trip to Chhota Udaipur to meet the Rathwa tribes, considered to be one of the most primitive tribal communities of Gujarat.
- Enjoy an early lunch and then proceed by jeep to visit tribal villages like Kol, Kharakwada, Timla, and Devhat.
- In the evening, return to Baroda.

Day 3 : Baroda to Ahmedabad and Onwards to Utellia
- After breakfast, transfer to the airport for a flight to Ahmedabad.
- Upon arrival, drive to Utellia (78 km, approx. 1.5 hours), a quaint feudal village known for its medieval palace.
- Check-in at the hotel and enjoy the evening at leisure.
- Overnight stay in Utellia.

Day 4 : Excursion to Bharwad Tribal Village
- Today, visit the Bharwad tribal village.
- The Bharwad people, traditionally shepherds and cattle herders, are known for their love of color, particularly blue, green, and white, which they use to paint their homes.
- Visit the homes of these vibrant tribes and get a glimpse into their everyday life.
- Some Bharwads are now engaged in diamond cutting and polishing, and you’ll have the opportunity to observe this fascinating process.
- Also visit a local camel-breeding farm, known for producing high-quality camels.
- Overnight stay in Utellia.

Day 5 : Utellia to Balaram (120 km, approx. 2 hours)
- After breakfast, drive to Balaram, a picturesque holy town nestled amidst lush green forests.
- On the way, visit the famous Calico Museum, Adalaj Stepwell (built in 1499), and the Modhera Sun Temple, which dates back to 1026 AD and is often compared to the Konark Temple in Orissa.
- Continue your drive to Balaram and check-in at the Balaram Palace Resort, a renowned heritage resort in Gujarat.

Day 6 : Balaram Excursion to the Gowala and Garasia Tribal Regions
- Visit the Gowala and Garasia tribes, located in the hills bordering Gujarat and Rajasthan.
- The Gowalas are more settled, while the Garacia are nomadic, with distinct cultural traditions.
- Women in these tribes dress differently, with Garacia women wearing less ornate attire compared to the Gowala women.
- Explore these tribes’ unique cultures, and enjoy a private tribal dance performance in the evening.

Day 7 : Balaram to Patan and Little Rann of Kutch
- Today, drive to Patan, once the capital of medieval Gujarat, known for its Hindu and Jain architecture.
- Visit the 11th-century Rani-ki-Vav stepwell and meet one of the three families of Patola weavers, known for their intricate double ikkat weaving technique.
- Afterward, continue your journey to the Little Rann of Kutch and check-in at the Desert Courser Camp.

- Explore the Little Rann of Kutch, a vast salt flat and marshy terrain home to the endangered Asiatic Wild Ass.

Day 10 : Bhuj – Exploring the Tribes of Kutch
- The Rann of Kutch is home to many unique and vibrant tribes such as the Megwar, Samma, Jat, Mutwa, Ahir, and Rabari.
- Over the next few days, you will visit different tribal villages to witness their fascinating lifestyles and rich traditions.
- Also, explore Bhuj, which was severely affected by the 2001 earthquake.
- Visit the Old City, the Aina Mahal (Old Palace), the Prag Mahal (New Palace), and the Bharatiya Folk Museum, which showcases tribal life.
